ChessCam FAQ
ChessCam FAQ answers the essentials for camera setup, recording, live watching, analysis, export, privacy, and troubleshooting.
What setup gives the most reliable board detection?
Keep the whole board visible, keep the phone still, use steady light, leave space around the board, and scan again if the preview looks wrong.
How do I record and stream a physical game?
Open Record game, allow camera access, press Scan, then Play. Use the Watch card to copy a live link or code.
How do I watch a game on another screen?
Open the copied watch link, or enter the watch code on the ChessCam homepage.
How do analysis, history, and export work?
Saved games stay in local history. Open a game to review moves, run browser-based analysis, and copy PGN or final FEN.
What stays private, and what should I try when recognition is wrong?
Camera recognition runs in the browser. If moves look wrong, pause, check lighting and board framing, then scan again.
